PRODUCE QUESTIONS

We source produce straight from the farm. This is ungraded and a mix of all shapes and sizes. Once produce leaves a farm it is subject to a grading process (this sorts the produce into 'pretty' and 'not so pretty'). Supermarkets will always take the 'pretty' things. By buying straight from the source we are skipping this grading process! This means you can expect a mix of all shapes and sizes in your boxes - things that wouldn't pass the grading process (and some beauitful produce that would!)

We operate with a clear order of priority for our suppliers; we will always prioritise produce that would otherwise go to waste. All of our produce will be seasonal from Waikato & Hawke's Bay farms. Despite our best efforts, we may sometimes have to source from the wholesale market floors and farms that are not super local to our location. Our criteria for our suppliers has to be balanced with wanting to offer enough variety and consistency for our Misfit customers.
We aim to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible and so we will always offer the most environmentally sustainable option.

We’ve got you covered! We provide you with weekly recipes for things that are in your box each week. They will be delicious and nutritious AND not too hard to cook! Make sure to tag us on Instagram with your creations. Send us some pics to let us know how you get on. Or send us some suggestions. You might make our websites hall of fame!

Our aim is to provide 10-15% of our produce to local charities and food banks around Taupō and the surrounds. We are proudly helping out the local Kai Pantries, Taupō Baptist Church, Tūrangi Food Bank and Kura Kai.
We have been enjoying working alongside the Baptist Church, who provide hot meals every Monday evening.
We donate 100% of our suplus produce, meaning we are a waste-free business! Zero Waste = Happy Misfit Garden Team! -
Some of your box will be organic and some will be spray-free, but we don’t yet do completely organic boxes. Our main priority right now is to reduce waste as that comes from all types of vegetable production.

Our orders are processed Sunday 9pm. If for some reason your payment bounces, you have until Monday 9pm to correct payment issues. Our cut off for ordering is Monday 9pm.
Any orders that process after this will be delivered the next week

These are available at the cart for non subscribers or within our subscription portal! Once you subscribe to a box you will be sent an email with your portal access - you can skip, pause & swap your subscription items very easily too!

Yes for sure! We allow up to 3 x exclusions per week, you can let us know in the cart when checking out if you're an existing subscriber then you can manage these in your subscription portal as often as you need!

Yes! We are proudly a plastic free box - our cucumbers and leafy greens are always delivered plastic free, so the correct storage at home is up to you!
Our wood shavings are also FOOD GRADE and COMPOSTABLE. Your worms will love them!
