Misfit and Proud

Celebrating Difference

At Misfit Garden, we spend our days rescuing fruit and vegetables that don't quite fit the mould.

The carrot that's a bit crooked.

The apple with a bump.

The kumara that grew into a shape that only its mother could love.

Perfectly good produce gets overlooked every day simply because it doesn't match someone else's idea of what it should be or look like. We think that's a bit silly.

After all, different isn't a bad thing.

It's what makes things interesting.

It's what gives character.

It's what makes a Misfit.

That's why we love celebrating Pride Month.

While fruit and vegetables are obviously very different from people, the idea behind what we do has always been simple: things don't have to fit neatly into a box to be valuable.

(Good thing we're not big fans of boxes round here... 😉).

Everyone deserves to feel accepted, celebrated, and proud of who they are.

This June, we're supporting RainbowYOUTH with our Rainbow "Misfit and Proud" Sticker.

For every sticker sold throughout June, we'll donate $1 to RainbowYOUTH to help support rainbow rangatahi across Aotearoa.

RainbowYOUTH does incredible work creating safe, supportive spaces for young people to be themselves, connect with community, and access the support they need.

As a business built around celebrating things that are a little different, we're proud to support an organisation doing exactly that.

Misfit and Proud

Because being different isn't something to hide.

It's something to celebrate.

So here's to the crooked carrots.

The bumpy apples.

The wonderfully weird vegetables.

And the people who remind us every day that the world is a better place when everyone can be themselves.

🌈 Proudly colourful.

🥕 Proudly different.

💚 Proudly Misfit.
