Daikon French Fries

Daikon French Fries

  • 500g Daikon radish, peeled & sliced into French fry shape50ml of oil for cooking
  • 1½ teaspoons chilli paste
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • Salt

 

  1. Preheat the oven to 230°C, and line a baking tray with parchment.
  2. Make the seasoning. In a small bowl, combine the oil, chili paste, soy sauce, ginger, sugar & salt.
  3. Add the Daikon chips to your baking sheet and set aside.
  4. Drizzle your seasoning over the daikon and then use your hands to make sure they are all evenly coated and in a single layer.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast until they are golden brown on all sides (about 30 minutes) . Make sure you gently toss/flip them halfway through your cooking time!
  6. Remove from the baking tray, and if any oil remains you can place your chips on a layer of kitchen roll to absorb the excess.
  7. Enjoy!
